Cosy mysteries in overlooked places, and the art of growing older.

Set in stone in Leeuwarden

Brilliant in simplicity. Rutger Kopland is my favourite Dutch. He uses plain language that takes you places. In this poem he takes us to the place of the poem, Leeuwarden, then to himself.

A poem by Rutger Kopland called Een steen uit Leeuwarden (A stone from Leeuwarden).
Translated by David Colmer.
The original poem in Dutch.
